On the last day of our trip to New England, Mom and I drove into Ogunquit, ME in search of a highly rated lobster shack, but what we found was much more than we had hoped. According to legend, the Abenaki tribe gave Ogunquit it’s name, meaning “beautiful place by the sea.” To locals and tourists alike, the name could not be more appropriate.
We arrived around 3pm for a late lunch/early lobster dinner and were instantly charmed by this quaint sea village. Ogunquit is everything you envision when you think of coastal New England. After filling up on lobster and clam chowder, Mom and I explored a few of the shops before taking a lovely sunset stroll along the Marginal Way Walkway. The views were surprisingly some of my favorite of the entire trip. If you visit Maine and find yourself anywhere near Ogunquit, I highly recommend you pay it a visit.
