Where do I begin? This one is so special.
I’ve known Elizabeth since she was 10 years old. Her family moved to Florida from Virginia, and by God’s grace, I met and became best friends with her older sister, Meredith (who has graced the pages of this blog mannnnyyy times – here, here, and here ). Their family is very dear to my heart. They took me on summer vacation to Virginia, introduced me to the Dave Matthews Band, and the beauty of a Bojangles biscuit. Photographing Elizabeth’s wedding was like a family reunion for me, as well.
She and Clay were married on an overcast November day in the mountains of Abingdon, Virginia. It was a relaxed day, filled with just the right amount of frill. The groomsmen golfed in the field, while the ladies sipped mimosas and got ready for the day. Elizabeth carried a bouquet filled with shades of pink and orange peonies and tulips that perfectly matched her hot pink manicure. For the reception, she ditched her veil and donned a flower crown with the same color scheme. The whole day was truly a dream to photograph!
Here’s what I saw on the wedding day of Elizabeth and Clay Childress:
