Nestled on the border of the Everglades and Marco Island is Goodland – a small fishing town in Southwest Florida. The type of place you accidentally end up, and then decide you never want to leave. Occupying only 222 acres, Goodland boasts a short list of eateries and bars, each one unique from the next but all equally worthy of a visit – even if just for a cold beverage on a hot Florida afternoon. One of these is Kirk Fish Company. Family owned and operated, Kirk Fish Co. sells the freshest local seafood caught daily by Mr. Kirk himself. Specializing in Stone Crab, Kirk Fish Co. offers a variety of fish and shellfish for sale in their market, or if you prefer to get cracking immediately, you can eat outside on one of three picnic tables with a view of the bay (which I highly recommend). Also, be sure to save room for a slice of Key Lime Pie. You won’t regret it.
