Story Portrait. Meredith Grace

FILED IN: People

On Instagram, I follow a pretty rad photographer named Branden Harvey who frequently posts what he calls “Story Portraits.” These portraits feature a photo of someone who means something to him and a long description of why that person is awesome. Being the English major that I am, I totally love this combo of photography and writing.

So I’ve decided to follow Branden’s lead here on the blog.

Meet Meredith Grace.

Meredith and I have been friends for 7 years. We met in high school when we were forced to sit next to each other on a 12 hour car ride to church camp in Tennessee. We both thought the other was totally weird. Meredith couldn’t believe that I brought a book to read, let alone that it was Harry Potter. And I couldn’t believe that Meredith thought that reading Harry Potter was weird. But as the old saying goes- opposites attract – and by the time we made it to Chattanooga  Meredith Grace and I were best friends. Since that week long summer camp in 2008, Meredith has been my closest friend, most trusted confidant, and by far the best example of how to embrace and follow the path the Lord has set out for you.

Other things I think you should know about Meredith: the girl loves Sweet Home Alabama [the movie] more than any other human being, she can eat an entire bag of Cadbury mini eggs in one sitting, and she has a beautiful singing voice although you may only hear it in church (or when she sings My Heart Will Go On at the karaoke bar).

Hope y’all enjoy this new “Story Portrait” series. I’m excited to see where it goes!
